University of Houston Football Stadium

  • Location:  Houston, Texas, USA
  • Execution Year:  September, 2013

Brief Info

The new University of Houston Football stadium – to be built on the site of the current Robertson Stadium following the 2012 season – is expected to cost around $105 million. The stadium will be the home of the Houston Cougars football team, which represents the University of Houston in collegiate football. Plans call for the new facility to hold 40,000 fans with Phase II expansion designs that could increase that total to 60,000. The new facility will be specially coated with corrugated metal exterior skin, and possess an opening on the stadium’s northwest side that will showcase the downtown Houston skyline. With a planned completion date in July 2014, the University of Houston has announced it’s intention to open the stadium to the public beginning in the 2014 season.
