The Denver VA Medical Center (VAMC) replacement hospital will be built on the same campus as the University of Colorado Hospital complex in Aurora, site of the former Fitzsimons Army Medical Center. This new hospital demonstrates the continued commitment to serve America’s Veterans with the finest facilities and health care models, It will belong to the Veterans that it serves, and will be dedicated to providing them with the latest in state-of-the-art, Veteran-centric health care services. The 182 bed replacement medical center will include a 30-bed spinal cord injury unit, plus a separate 30-bed nursing home community living center. a research building, a central utility plant and parking structures. A full-services, state-of-the-art medical campus, the 31- acre project site has over 1.1 million square feet of structures; including Clinical Building South, two inpatient towers, diagnostic and treatment center, research building, above and below ground parking structures, energy center, community living center and a concourse. The project is seeking LEED Silver certification.
