The Music City Center is a proposed 1,200,000 square feet (111,000 m2) convention center located in the SoBro (South of Broadway) district in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee, United States. The current convention center is the 115th largest in the country competing for one-fourth of the convention market. This new project will allow the city to compete for the three-fourths of the convention market. When completed, the building is expected to have 370,000 square feet (34,000 m2) of the exhibit space and is being designed by Atlanta-based Thompson, Ventulett, Stainback & Associates. The Music City Center opened in May 2013. The complex was designed by tvsdesign with Associated Architects: Tuck-Hinton Architects, Moody-Nolan. Developed by Nashville Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency, the music city center encompasses an area of 2,100,000 sq ft (195,096 m2) and was built at a cost of about $623 million.
