Arizona State University (ASU) Hayden Library comprises of Pent AHouse & Roof spread over 3,54,000 sq. ft. On the heels of its 50th anniversary, Hayden Library is preparing to undergo a major renovation, with construction expected to begin in late 2017, in an effort to make Hayden more accessible and engaging and its resources more visible and user-friendly. The community of ASU celebrated the progressing transformation of its largest library at a groundbreaking ceremony. Currently under comprehensive renovation with completion scheduled for January 2020, Hayden Library’s five-story tower will feature new classrooms, state-of-the-art learning labs, engaging print collections and study space to accommodate more than 2,000 students. The remodel advances a new vision for academic libraries at a time when demand for student space on campus continues to grow and knowledge is being created, accessed and shared with an ever-expanding set of tools. Features of the Hayden Library reinvention will include an above-ground entrance with multiple points of access, 6 classrooms and more than 1,000 additional seats. This will help students to study, collaborate and learn actively curated and community-led print collections on every floor. The university’s innovations and scholarly work main-floor access to ASU Library will illustrate the history and culture of Arizona. All its people will get a suite of learning & research space, specializing in data analysis, creativity and technology learning, research support and geographic information systems integrated on every floor.
