HR & Employee Engagement:
A. Photography Contest
Pinnacle planned to nurture the artistic side of employees with the onset of romantic monsoon through Photography Contest. Enthusiastic PIS employees went around the PIS campus for photo shooting and submitted their entries within 11th of July, 2016. This is the 1st Photography competition organized by Pinnacle for supporting photographers who like to share their stories and influence the way people think through images. Two themes were mainly followed for the contest namely Pinnacle Motion and Pinnacle Life.
Pinnacle Motion – The theme has set a completely new dimension for all photographers to showcase their energy. They have seized the real instant images capturing moments, people, faces and other elements that are capable of narrating stories woven into the exuberant fabric of life.
Pinnacle Life – The theme has set a goal for all photographers to bring about the everyday life of Pinnacle through lenses. The aim is to create a photographic archive of Pinnacle days with all glories through what is usually considered to be mundane and repetitive in regular days.
Judge: The Judge of the Contest will be MADHU SARKAR MFIAP – the founder Director of NATIONAL ACADEMY OF PHOTOGRAPHY.

B. Pinnacle Organized Competency Evaluation Test for Production Team
Pinnacle organized 2nd Quarter Exam of 30 minutes duration as a competency evaluation for all Production Team Members.
C. Pinnacle Arranged Training for Employees
1. The topics chosen by Pinnacle’s Training Department for ACS members for the month of July, 2016 included Interior Details: RCP, Openings, Soffit details, Overview of Concrete Shop Drawing, Furniture & Millwork, Autodesk Revit 2017 New Features (Architecture & Structure), BBS & BOQ extraction (Indian Project) and Project execution using point cloud software.
2. The 12 MEP Training Topics divided into 2 parts comprising the Basic & Advance included Plumbing Shop Drawing, Basic HVAC Concepts, Standard Consideration before Modeling and Coordination, Electrical Shop Drawing (US Standard), Study of Contract Documents (Project Study), HVAC System Layouts & Relationship, Basic Application of Plumbing, Basic Application of HVAC, Electrical Shop Drawing (US Standard), Detail Toilet Connection as per Submittal (Dimension & Height), Duct Fitting Selection consideration and Sending Queries & Creating RFI.
A. CEO’s Address to All Project Leaders
Pinnacle CEO – Mr. Bimal Kumar Patwari addressed all the Project Leaders, Team Leaders, PHODs and HODs of Pinnacle Infotech to discuss about the KRAs (Key Responsibility Areas) and KPIs at the seminar hall. The discussion emphasized on the process of enhancing the quality of Pinnacle’s production team for delivering BIM services to clients. High standard quality will be maintained by Pinnacle team at all stages of production,s including aesthetics, presentation, completeness, accuracy and conformance to specifications.
B. Adoption of ISO 14001:2015 and ISOS27001:2013
PIS Management has decided to adopt Environment Management System (EMS) and IT Security Management System (ISMS) of ISO Standards. These standards are associated with Pinnacle’s commitment to Environment and Data security and would involve all team members of Pinnacle directly or indirectly.
C. Fire Safety Evacuation Drills for Employees
Fire safety training along with an evacuation drill was organized for Pinnacle Durgapur Employees at Amphitheatre. All Pinnacle employees followed the schedule punctually to gain an awareness about fire safety escape. The evacuation drills were demonstrated to ensure that the employees can safely escape without injuring themselves or others in case of a major fire breakout. An accredited and renowned agency from Mumbai was hired for executing the whole program at Pinnacle, which is divided into three parts namely:
a. ERT Training – Emergency Response Team Formation and their Training
b. Evacuation Drill – Conduction of Mock Drill for evacuating employees and occupants at PIS office
c. Training Employees at Safe Assembly Point at Amphitheatre
III. Research & Development
Pinnacle’s RND Team come up with new Add-Ins, Tools, & Apps:
A. Revit Add-ins: Filter More – Pinnacle Team reviewed new Revit Add-Ins – FilterMore – an advanced filter for viewing current selection as single element. This facilitates expansion of current selection through a host of elements. Moreover, if one gets tired of losing current selection, FilterMore helps to add extra buttons as a fast way to store a temporal selection where the user can append or restore. By using Pre-Filter one can filter by category before making any selection. FilterMore main app helps to filter current selection by single element using a tree visualization based on category, family and types. It’s like the regular Autodesk® Revit® filter with extra information. Current checked selection can be expanded through different options including Same Category, Same Type, Same Family, Host of Elements, Hosted Elements and Nested Elements. A dedicated button helps to expand without going to the FilterMore main app. By pressing ‘shift+click’, the selection will be expanded based on the last configuration.
B. Revit Add-ins: ElementRenumbering – PIS Research & Development Team also reviewed ‘ElementRenumbering’ for renumbering different types of elements, selecting one after the other. This tool is a modification of ADN Room Renumbering with expanded capabilities. One can select elements for renumbering Room, Area, Grids, Doors, Structural Columns & Framing, Mechanical & Electrical Equipment, Windows, Family Component, Space, Viewport and Link. Target Parameter should be selected by name, adding prefix and suffix and by setting zero padding.
C. AutoCAD Lisp: Pinnacle R & D team developed AutoCAD Lisp, creating boundary as per Polyline Global Width Value. It will help to use the ‘osnap’ features from the polyline for dimension and measurement. The boundary will be created in a self created layer as a continuous line for future support. Besides, the users can choose the objects with the same layer for easy understanding and management. The current layer remains unchanged, continuing with the existing workflow, thus reducing the chance of manual error, saving time.
D. Revit Edge Length Calculation – Pinnacle reviewed Revit Edge Length Calculation for automatically creating shared parameter as per maximum floor edge length available in the document. Parameter can be used to get the schedule. This tool is compatible with Revit 2014, 2015 & 2016.
IV. Case Study:
Pinnacle performed Case Study on Linetype Scale (MSLTSCALE and PSLTSCALE):
Issue: A non-continuous linetype displays properly in Paper Space but doesn’t display properly in Model Space.
Cause: MSLTSCALE, LTSCALE and/or PSLTSCALE system variables are not set properly.
Solution: Linetype scaling in model space is controlled by the variable MSLTSCALE and in paper space with PSLTSCALE. The MSLTSCALE system variable controls regardless of whether or not linetypes displayed on the model tab are scaled based on the Annotation Scale.

Note: MSLTSCALE Overrides LTSCALE and CELTSCALE in model space, but it doesn’t effect paper space. Hence, it won’t change the geometry looks inside the viewports. The PSLTSCALE system variable controls the linetype scaling of objects displayed in paper space.
