Brief Info

In order to help cancer affected families, the Comprehensive Center of Cancer (CCC) at the University of Puerto Rico will begin the construction of a new cancer hospital in Rio Piedras. This Cancer Center is the region’s first dedicated cancer hospital. The total investment of construction, equipment and other requirements to operate the hospital exceeds $150 million. The 12-floor facility will house eight halls specialized in cancer surgery, intensive care unit, a unit of intermediate care and three floors with 72 beds, as well as chemotherapy, specialized breast cancer treatment, bone marrow transplant, and nuclear medicine, among many other services.
The building was designed by the prestigious RJMJ firm with vast experience in hospital facilities and comprehensive Cancer Centers. Construction of the project is projected to last around 30 months, with a completion date set for April 2016.
