Steel Detailing

Steel Detailing is a process which transforms design/ engineering/ construction drawings into shop drawings. It helps fabricators streamline the production of steel parts in shop.

Steel Detailing Services

Our detailing structure work is performed using a Tekla Structures Steel Detailing System (formerly known as XSteel), a fully computerized 3D modeling system.

Using Tekla our detailers create a 3D model of the complete steel structure including all the information required for ordering, fabrication and erection.

Shop Drawings

All the drawings, material and bolt lists are produced automatically by the 3D model. Our detailing service includes the provision of 3D general arrangements, assemble drawings, advance bill of materials, anchor bolt layouts & details, material order lists, member preparation details, fitting sheets, and CNC-related information.

Reporting and Material Lists

The flexibility of the Tekla database allows for the creation of a wide variety of lists. The content of these lists can be customized to suit the individual needs of the client. Typical examples include: drawing lists, assembly lists, parts lists, bolt lists, assembly bolt lists, shipping lists, center of gravity reports, etc.

Links to CNC Machinery

Tekla creates CNC data automatically for all items in the structure with the press of a single key. This substantially reduces time and improves efficiency throughout the production process.
