Challenges and chances for the HVAC industry
Rajarshi Majumder | PinnacleCAD

The Heating, Ventilating and Air-conditioning (HVAC) industry is currently facing a lot of challenges under the impact of the global economic meltdown. But, at the same time, if we look beyond the immediate, we see a tremendous growth opportunity for the industry.

Contractors associated with this industry usually provide both component parts as well as labor. The work may comprise of additions, alterations, repairs and maintenance, besides fresh work. HVAC is an important part of Building Information Modeling (BIM).

We Provide

At present, the HVAC sector is facing a lot of challenges due to the slowdown in the building construction industry because of global recession. Some of these challenges are deferment, postponement and even cancellation of projects, drying up of finance, below-cost bidding, pressure for cost-cutting, spending freeze and the looming specter of funding crisis due to the prospect of lesser number of construction projects being sanctioned in the near future.

However, the above facts should not lead us to the conclusion that the future of the HVAC sector is bleak. On the contrary, the sector holds a lot of hope for the future. This is because the building construction industry is increasingly showing a shift towards intelligent building infrastructure. The rapid emergence of such infrastructure suggests that in the near future smart buildings will outnumber other kinds of buildings. Information technology is likely to be the backbone of this technology shift.

It is common knowledge that selection of the right equipment for heating, ventilation and air-conditioning saves any property a lot on its energy expenditure. The technology shift is likely to make management, monitoring and usage of energy even more convenient.

The HVAC sector also holds a lot of promises from the employment perspective. In a time like this, when job crunch and hiring freeze are rampant, jobs in the HVAC sector are expected to grow in the coming days, according to industry experts. A career in this field is hugely insulated from the economic climate because the services are likely to stay in demand for years to come.

At present, demand for HVAC services is high in skyscrapers and office spaces. HVAC technicians trained to install and service air-conditioners in office spaces and large commercial buildings are in high demand. Other sectors where the demand for HVAC services is likely to rise include the commercial aviation sector and marine systems.

The aviation sector requires sophisticated technologies for air-conditioning and climate control. The air-conditioning systems of the marine vessels also require regular maintenance. HVAC services are essential in both the cases.

The scope of HVAC is huge and only companies with all round capabilities in the domain are able to provide superior services. A lot of big players are in the race. Pinnacle Infotech, for example, is a company which has a proven track record of satisfying clients with diverse requirements related to HVAC services. Pinnacle provides HVAC layout design and detailing services, HVAC system modeling and many other services. The company is also a market leader in BIM services.
