Albani, the professor of Architecture in the American University, Dubai received a professional certificate in BIM as the first in UAE.

Prof. Alex Albani, the assistant professor of Interior Design and Architecture in the (AUD) American University in Dubai became the first in the UAE to be rewarded with the professional certificate on Revit Architecture for BIM. Prof. This certificate is awarded for usage of a particular software for the implementation of Building Information Modeling. The certificate is mainly offered to students of Interior Design and Architecture. The AUD offers courses on BIM, as a part of the ICD or Integrated Computational Design concentration under the department of Bachelor of Fine Arts, Interior Design.

In the words of Dr. Nabyl Chenaf, the Associate Professor and chair person of the department of Architecture and Interior Design in AUD, Prof. Albani has constantly been on the side of the students of Architecture and Interior Design in his university. Albani reflected that it was quite a pleasant surprise for him to know that he was the only person in the UAE to earn the certificate for BIM Revit Architecture 2011. This step will surely encourage the AUD students of Interior Design and Architecture become certified BIM professionals and work with precision. According to Albani, in near future, AUD will be able to award professional certificates inside their campus. This will be an added advantage for their Architecture and Integrated Computational Design concentration students.
